We have a ring of 8 bells at St. James. The heaviest bell is the tenor which weighs 19 cwt 3 qrt 14 lb. The oldest of the eight is the five, cast in 1610. St. James was a ring of 6 up until 1897, when it was made up to a ring of eight for the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria.
